Who is eligible?

We are looking for excellent young scientists who are eager to contribute to cutting-edge research in the field of Biophysics. If you are highly motivated, have exceptional scientific training and research experience and like to work in a team, we are looking forward to receive your application.

Master of Science:

A Master of Science obtained at a German or foreign university with excellent marks is the common way to enter the IMPRS.

Bachelor of Science:

In Germany, it is not common practice to enroll as a PhD student with a Bachelor degree. Students holding a BSc may be considered in exceptional cases if they provide excellent academic records and transcripts that prove equivalent training. An assessment of these records will take place on a case-to-case basis and candidates may have to complete additional MSc courses to be accepted at the IMPRS.

We welcome applications from candidates with a degree in a wide range of disciplines including, but not limited to:

Biochemistry                                    Microbiology                                          Chemistry

Biology                                              Physics

Biophysics                                        Computer sciences

Molecular biology                            Mathematics
